Charta Health, a medical billing and coding tech company, received $8.1 million in a seed funding round.
Bain Capital's venture capital division led the round. Venture capital investors SV Angel, South Park Commons, SpringRock Ventures and Refract Ventures also participated.
Charta uses AI in an effort to automate the process of chart review for providers. The company uses the technology to identify possible coding errors and flag potential denials. It said in a release it will use the funds to expand research and development and grow its workforce.
